TSFFM is managed and its activities conducted entirely by volunteers, mostly attorneys with a practice in workers' compensation. For this reason, more than 50% of the net proceeds each year from the organization's Annual Dinner and Memorial Journal finance its Scholarship Program.

In 2003, TSFFM inaugurated a Named Triangle Memorial Scholarship program wherein TSFFM matches every $1,000.00 contributed for a named scholarship with another $1,000.00 to award a $2,000.00 Named Triangle Memorial Scholarship. A donor or contributor to the named scholarship may choose or elect to remain anonymous; name an individual or family; a company, or law firm.

The Named Scholarship program effectively doubles the contribution of a donor and increases the capacity of TSFFM to reach an even greater number of children of injured workers.

In this way, TSFFM has raised over $80,000.00 in its first three years for scholarships for the children of injured workers and this figure is expected to exceed $100,000 following its Fourth Annual Dinner. Recipients have included students residing in counties from Erie to Suffolk; in both public and private institutions of higher education; in fields of study from engineering technology to teacher education to hotel management to arts and sciences.

TSFFM, through its Scholarship Committee, publicizes the availability of its scholarship resources to a network of financial aid officers across New York State. Nominations are received from this network, considered by TSFFMís Scholarship Committee, and awards are made to the institution for the benefit of the nominee.
